I received an email from a sweet sweet lady……
This sweet woman carrying a miracle for another couple wanted to gift them a birth session to capture them meeting their daughter; the baby she is carrying. Can we cue the excitement and tears?!
We fast forward to the beginning of November, she was able to be at the baby shower honoring this sweet little blessing and her family. Cherishing in the moments of them becoming a family. As we begin to prepare for the upcoming arrival we “thought” she would arrive sooner…so on call I go. No baby! Until finally an induction is set for the stubborn little lady!
I arrived at Alamance Regional Hospital in a very familiar room. A room I have captured other births in too. Darkness. Quietness. Low worship music playing in the corner. Rhythmic moans during the waves of contractions. The midwife watching. A nurse listening. Her doula encouraging and supporting. The emotion in the room as high. You could tell everyone was excited and hopeful, expectant but still unsure of what would come. After laboring and walking for a few minutes this brave Momma of two boys knew it was time. She was already in the bathroom laboring. This little miracles sweet Momma put on gloves as fast as she could, a few of her fingers stuck in one hole and watched eagerly as her daughter was born. There was an unspoken question prior to birth of how to get them as close as possible so that both Moms would be cared for and this new little girl would met her parents. I will tell you God knew. He always does. But right there in that shower stall Katie climbed in beside of Keira mere mili-seconds after the baby was born to hold her, all while still being attached to the placenta.
Not a dry eye in sight.
Everyone filled with excitement.
Relief.
Overwhelming Joy.
After the birth the family was brought to a room so that they could get acquainted with this darling little girl and all of those special first could take place. Weight and measurements. Foot prints. Feeding. Even her first diaper change. Watching these two with this tiny miracle was so amazing.
MY very first surrogate experience was AMAZING!
Congratulations Rich Family. Congratulations Anderson Family.
Thank you for allowing to be a small part of your amazing story!
